In this blog, I want to introduce one game that I played recently called Death Stranding, made by Kojima, Japan.
The background is that in the future when humans die, most of them did not just die. They became Beached things (like a spirit), wandering around the world trying to find their cadavers. But when Beached things touched dead bodies, they would somehow create explosions equal to nuclear bombs'. The living humans were not aware of this situation, at least not until several explosions happened and destroyed human society.
My character, whose name is Sam Bridges, his goal is to rebuild the United Cities of America (a bit different from the USA) by being a delivery person. My job is to deliver essentials to different cities in America and connect all the cities to the 'Internet' (called Chiral Network).
This game actually did not get great reviews because the game seems tedious. Sam has to climb icy mountains to deliver goods, build roads, everything on his own but I find the experience of rebuilding human society, connecting remaining communities an interesting adventure.

This sounds really cool! I wonder why it didn't get good reviews. Is the goal of the game to rebuild the world?
回复删除I think the reason is that people find doing delivery in a game stupid and boring. The goal in this game is just rebuild the United Cities of America :) The map of America in this game is already huge. I am not sure if my computer can store this game if it contains the map of the whole world :)
